This hotel is absolutely a gem in downtown Spokane. I stayed here with my partner and it was lovely. You can tell the intention that is put into every single area. There are some quirks with it being in an old building but that's the part I loved the most. If you want your own bathroom, I recommend booking one of the rooms with an en suite bathroom, but I like that there were lots of options and levels of prices so anyone can come and experience a stay here. There isn't technically food availible in the hotel itself, however, just around the corner you will find the best waffles you've ever had at People's Waffle (shhhh they are completely gluten free but you would never know it!), and for your wind down beverage after traveling you have Emma Rues right next door. Highly recommend a stay here whether your from out of town passing through, or a local like myself who wanted to experience a night on the town in our amazing city.

Location is an easy walk to so many things. Very clear check in instructions and friendly staff. I love the quirkiness of the decor and the layout is so fun! Our room was clean and the bed is so comfortable. The bathrooms were kept very clean and are conveniently located to all of the rooms.

Had a great stay at Symons Block Hotel! The location is perfect, within walking distance to everything I needed. The aesthetics are really nice, and the rooms and bathrooms are very clean. There are options for rooms with a private bathroom or more affordable ones with a shared bathroom (which are always kept clean), but it’s good to ask about this before booking. Definitely recommend if you’re staying in Spokane!

Where to begin with the concerns? We couldn’t get into the building because the code we were sent didn’t work. Turns out we were e-mailed a new code day of but were traveling and didn’t get it. Then both elevators were broken and we walked up 3 flights of stairs. At the top was another locked door, again no idea on code. Finally figured out we could press a bell and be buzzed in. After all that I was told by the guy at the front desk that when I paid for my room in full back in February they miscalculated the taxes and I had to pay more money! What?!! Our room was really nice but there was a pump or something on the toilet that is very loud. The website grossly misrepresented the actual hotel. There is no lounge/bar as seen on the website, no woman serving you wine, no working elevator, not even a drinking glass in the room. The neighborhood is not good. Lots of homeless and active drug use literally in front of hotel. For $250 per night, I really expected better. Pictures of elevators and lounge below.

I found my recent stay at this hotel disappointing for several reasons. Firstly, the hotel's exterior is poorly labeled, making it difficult to locate. When I called for parking instructions, the staff member seemed unsure and suggested street parking without confidence. Moreover, the elevators were out of service, necessitating a challenging ascent with luggage up three flights of stairs, which was unexpected and inconvenient. Upon reaching the third floor, I encountered a locked door and had to use an electronic doorbell for access, which added to the frustration. The room itself was uncomfortably hot, indicating inadequate air conditioning—a significant issue, particularly in summer in Spokane. Additionally, booking through Expedia did not clearly indicate that rooms lacked private bathrooms. It appears there is only one shared bathroom for multiple rooms (there might be more bathrooms, but the staff certainly hasn't made that clear). Overall, these experiences fell short of expectations, and I would not recommend this hotel.

Very cool hotel! Two rules for a 5 star stay: 1.) check in between 4-8pm 2.) most rooms only include a shared bathroom—hence why it’s a cheaper hotel in the area. Make sure if you want your own bathroom to choose a room with an “ensuite bathroom” on the website. I double checked the 1 star reviews for this hotel, and paid extra for the ensuite bathroom and made sure we arrived within the window of check in time. And had a great experience! Would definitely stay again.

I booked my stay through Air BnB and nowhere did it state that my room did not have a bathroom. There are communal bathrooms and showers, but in the advertised photos it shows the room and a bathroom that implies that it is attached to the bedroom. It is very misleading.

Scammers we booked a room on there site for 3 people and where told they can only have 2 in the room after taking our booking for 3 don’t go hear

This was a fantastic place to stay! The hotel is near lots of restaurants and is walkable. The check in and out were easy and the service was friendly and accommodating. The room was gorgeous! The bathroom was clean, though it could use a few hooks for hanging clothes and towels. I would highly recommend!

The place was very good and affordable. The staff was AMAZING!!! I would be happy to be back!
