My husband surprised me with a night here as a surprise before Valentine's Day. The room came with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne, both were lovely. We ate at the Peacock Room on the main floor, our food and service was outstanding. We enjoyed chatting with the bartenders while sitting at the bar. If there was anything I wished were different, I wish there was a mini-fridge in the room. We will be back again!

6 weeks ago I booked a candlelight show and a king room for my wife and I. Apon arrival they said they has some construction contracted to happen so they no longer have a room for us and they need to move us to the Grand Davenport across town. They said they called me ahead of time but when I checked my phone, they called as I was parking. They insisted we take some peanut brittle hoping it would make it better. Then the room they put us in was a double queen and didn't have a trash can. We barely made it to the show and had to walk back to the other hotel after the show. If it is planned construction like they told us, then this was terrible service.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. It is a very relaxing atmosphere but there are things on site if you want a more lively environment. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Cozy just like staying at home. I can’t say enough about the staff. I was able to utilize the spa and checked out every venue on site. Every member of the staff was friendly, helpful, and kind. From the moment you walked in, the Valet was helpful and eager to direct you. The front desk was quick and inviting. The experience just stayed pleasant and relaxing from there. This hotel exceed my expectations on all levels! If you get a chance, it is a must visit!

Dismal and embarrassing service from start to finish. When we arrived to check in, our room was not ready. We had specifically planned to stay near our friends so our children could easily spend time together, but due to the delay, we were moved to a different floor, far from them. At first glance the room seemed fine. However, every electrical outlet at the vanity was out of order. We were attending the New Year’s Eve ball, and I had no way to get ready for the event. I called the front desk, and a gentleman came to inspect the outlets. He confirmed they did not work and informed us there was already a work order on that room — meaning the hotel was aware of the issue but placed us there anyway. There were no other working outlets near a mirror, making it impossible to prepare properly. As time was running out, I was rushed and changing into my formal dress when the maintenance worker returned with the extension cord, I had suggested. He knocked but did not announce himself and then opened our door wide. I was completely undressed and scrambling to put my dress on. I had to slam the door shut while he apologized from the hallway. This was humiliating and a serious violation of privacy. Our expectation of a luxurious and fun staycation was completely ruined. I didn’t have time to enjoy any of the “getting ready” moments I had looked forward to for the ball. We were far from our friends, our children couldn’t go room to room, our room wasn’t ready at check-in, the outlets didn’t work, and to top it off, a staff member opened our door while I was naked. After all of this, and after countless phone calls over the course of a month trying to speak with someone about what happened, we were offered $85. That response felt dismissive and insulting. We have made numerous attempts to follow up and have not received meaningful communication. This was the first time in our 15-year marriage that we went all out for New Year’s Eve. To be treated with such disregard and disrespect was incredibly disappointing. If we could give negative stars, we would. “Premier hotel, premier prices, premier experience” turned into premier disappointment.

My husband and I went to the Davenport hotel for the Candlelight concert. It was the first time we have been and were so pleased. The building is spectacular and filled with history. The ornate interior feels like you jumped right into a Great Gatsby movie. A combination of Spanish renaissance, art decor and French neoclassical. It’s a special venue for any occasion. We did not stay in the rooms, but I know we will be back.

I have attended five candlelight shows and every one has been spectacular. I love the historic venues used and the music and musicians are very talented and fun. Great music compositions that even a person who doesn’t love the symphony will love

The historic Davenport hotel in Spokane WA has to be one of the nicest Hotels with the friendliest employees we have been able to stay at. If you love early 19th century architectural styling, this place is magnificent! Beautiful hotel, lobby, rooms and everything in between. Christmas is a fantastic time to visit and stay. The place is decorated to the nines, and a massive Christmas tree stands inside the hotel lobby! We have stayed here before, and always look forward to future visits. Employees are so helpful, and kind, the bars staff, restaurant staff along with the food is wonderful. and it is within walking distance of so many fun establishments in down town Spokane!

I attended a holiday luncheon in one of the ballrooms. A lovely hotel. I enjoyed the ambiance and location. However, they miss on providing 5-star service only because they don’t have access to workers or they don’t hire enough people. Valet people are running like crazy. And food servers are few. No one at a number of tables were offered coffee after food was served. Cups had been placed. But it was a self-find and service situation for guests wanting tea or coffee. Otherwise, employees working are kind and accommodating.

I've been to several brunch events hosted at the Davenport. It is not only classy and elegant to look at, the food and staff were amazing. I love this beautiful historical hotel in my home town. I would highly recommend anyone coming to stay in Spokane to stay at this lovely hotel. The beds are extraordinary and they will have one specially made for you, if your intrested. They've been doing this for years, as people rant and rave about these comfortable beds. I'll be going there soon to see all the beautiful Christmas trees they have throughout the hotel. These trees are available to the people. The process is through the purchase of raffle tickets. It really is a must for your visit to Spokane. You won't be disappointed.

My family of four stayed here during the Christmas Tree Elegance event. The hotel was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, we booked our reservation through Expedia, and Expedia had overbooked the hotel leading to our family being split up and resulting in our family having to pay for an unexpected additional room. The Davenport staff were amazing and top notch at finding us a room on an extremely busy & stressful evening. I would advise anyone to book directly through the hotel and not a third party. Rooms were clean, beds were very comfortable. Food and service overall was exceptional. The history and displays could keep you entertained for hours. We will be back, a very special experience.
