The Davenport Tower Autograph Collection receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the comfortable rooms and convenient location, while others express concerns about inconsistent service, cleanliness issues, and operational problems. The hotel’s unique safari theme is noted, but often overshadowed by practical shortcomings. Overall, the property offers a decent stay but falls short of consistently meeting expectations for a 4-star hotel.
This hotel is fine, but it’s not a standout. The whole place has a safari theme, which feels a bit pretentious. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable king bed and great pillows - definitely the best part. The fridge was tiny, and the Keurig coffee maker worked fine, but nothing special. The bathroom was nice, but the shower had a slight problem - it kept spiking to boiling hot every 30 seconds or so. The front desk was a mixed bag - one person was friendly, but the card they gave me for the parking garage kept failing, so I had to go back repeatedly to get a new one. Parking garage is $28 a day, or $35 for valet in that same garage. There’s a vending machine in the basement with medical supplies, which is super convenient, but about five times the normal price. Overall, it was just an okay stay: nothing that blew me away.
Check in was a breeze. The room was clean, but a disappointment. They let us know that it was recently renovated, but I get the impression "renovated" didn't mean "ready." The fridge didn't work. The TV and/or remote didn't work. There was no toilet paper (though they brought it up quick!). The fireplace was a nice visual touch, but didn't seem to actually generate any heat. The washcloths were stained. There was still tape on the wall from the fresh paint. We were woken early to the footsteps of someone above us. The cherry on top was the shower running cold the next morning. The view was beautiful and almost redeeming, but not quite. The overall experience was underwhelming for the cost and we will not be back.
Sad to share this review, but Love on Rocks valentines day 2026 can only be described as a disappointment. Poor/hostile service. Lines of us with rooms not ready. Hotel stating check in is guarded at 4pm. It is minutes before 4pm, and, the highlight of the evening, a cocktail class, check in is at 345pm. What a mess. Extremely poor planning and execution for a special occasion on the part of Davenport marketing
Beautiful hotel! A bit of noise at night due to the age of the hotel. It was very clean and spacious. The bed is also very comfortable! Valet was amazing as well. Located in downtown- close to everything!
Bonvoy titanium perspective here, FWIW. Like another reviewer I think people are confusing the Tower with other Davenport properties. The Tower is NOT on par with the others, which are otherwise outstanding. This was my first negative Marriott review, but it’s warranted. I travel a lot of work, and I’ve stayed at the other Davenport properties many many times and loved them—unfortunately, the Davenport Tower is a clear step down and feels like a cheap imitation. Problems started before arrival. Reaching the Tower by phone was nearly impossible; calls rang endlessly or routed incorrectly. I ultimately had my questions answered by staff at the Davenport Historic, who were fielding Tower questions on their behalf—embarrassing for a property of this caliber. EV charging was extremely frustrating. I was explicitly told valet parking included EV charging and that it was the only way to charge, which is why I paid extra and planned my arrival accordingly. Upon arrival, valet said charging was unlikely. I was charged the first night, but the second night was told it was “first come, first serve” with no clear system. A valet attendant was dismissive and rude, even suggesting EV owners shouldn’t expect charging at all because "valet doesn't refill gas tanks for gas car owners". Maybe he hates Elon/Tesla, and thus hates me by extension of my car ownership. My guy, leave your social causes and biases at home, you are in the service industry. Either way, having only one Tesla charger for a high-volume 4-star hotel in 2026 is unacceptable—either manage it properly or don’t advertise it. This feels like they have one just to check a block on advertisements as an amenity. The room HVAC situation was by far the worst situation of our experience - broken on both nights. Despite setting the thermostat to 68, the room stayed 72–74 degrees (in winter). The first night, maintenance temporarily fixed it using a “VIP mode,” but it failed again at 2am. The second night, we were reassigned rooms late at night—but only one floor higher, same room type, with a dead keycard and no assistance moving luggage. Staff suggested this was an "upgrade" for the inconvenience, but I'm not sure what part of that is an upgrade. I also had to get my own bell cart and move my family myself. Ironically the bell carts have signs on them which say "Bell staff use ONLY". Yeah, sure. Additional issues: didnt realize fridge was unplugged on arrival (had to throw all of our dinner leftovers away), refrigerator missing 2 of 4 feet and super unstable, worn shower head forced you to shower up against the wall, conditioner bottle was filled with hand lotion (!), and keycards deactivated despite approved late checkout—forcing me to walk through the lobby in a towel after being in the pool to reactivate them. Breakfast service was painfully slow despite an empty dining room, with no coffee refills until after the meal. Any one of these could be overlooked. Together, they show consistent operational failure. The hotel never offered points, compensation, or even a gesture of goodwill. The Davenport brand deserves better than what the Tower is delivering.
Stayed a few days for work. Loved the hotel. Also looked exactly like the pictures do. My guest loved it too. Had an issue. They got on it right away. I appreciate that. Food was good. Room service most times. Bartender rocks. Great drink at night. Coffee in the morning. Fireplace was a plus. Good views. Corner room. I'd definitely stay here again. Market was a plus for when I needed my energy drinks. I also booked because of the hot tub. A perk. It also worked lol. Pool is heated as well. Gym is has some decent equipment. I hear they will be renovating soon. Can't wait to see. Sadly the mirrors will be taken down above the beds. I liked that. Maybe keep some in a few rooms? Thank you.
I believe some of the reviews are conflating this hotel with one of the 4 (?) other Davenports, all within a few blocks of each other. This one is the Tower, with 22 floors and the safari theme in the lobby. Hotel: Braxton at the front desk was great. Very professional. The hotel is clean and well-kept. It is not new but shows well and whimsically captures the patina of yesteryear. Every employee I saw looked professional and proud to work there, which I enjoy. Parking is not included! $35 for valet or $28/day for self-parking in the garage across the street. Breakfast also not included. That's $20+ from the restaurant. I did not ask for any incidentals or toiletries from the front desk, but I saw the 'toiletries & etc' vending machine near the pool. Nothing here is free or included. Being nickel & dimed detracts from the experience in my opinion, although I do understand their daily base rate is arguably modest for a "4-star hotel". The pool was not extraordinary, but again well-kept, and a nice novelty. The gym is your typical nearly-useless hotel gym, but treadmill was sturdy commercial grade and in pleasantly good condition. Room: My room was spacious, but basic and spruced up with upscale nods and fixtures. Generic mini-fridge and coffee maker included. No microwave. I did not hear anything from the neighboring rooms. ***Biggest factor in my review: the bed was beyond terrible. It was like laying on one big pillow. The softest, cushiest mattress I've ever felt. Like sleeping in a loose hammock. My body sank in the middle as I laid like a cooked shrimp all night. Severely uncomfortable for back-sleeping, agony for side-sleeping. The mile-tall pillows just exaggerated the situation. All I could think of was one of those mattress commercials where they show your spine mis-alignment circled in red. Being here for work, this drastically affected my performance. The shower was very spacious with open design and had good water pressure and heat. The HVAC wouldn't work to my liking. The room had a typical hotel lower window unit, but it seemed to not be responsive to thermostat, so I assume the room was tempered with ducted air instead. I hate to give a 2 star review, but, ultimately, not a good fit for me and I cannot recommend it. With how terrible the bed fit me, I cannot stay here again and will be booking elsewhere next time I'm in town. Or maybe someone in their early 30s isn't this hotel's target demographic. Who knows.
Disappointed by Early Departure Fee Policy I recently booked a two-night stay at this Marriott but ended up completing my work a day early and checked out after just one night. At checkout, the front desk staff thanked me and emailed my receipt—without any mention of additional charges. Later, I discovered a $130 fee per room (for two rooms) had been added due to what they considered a “late cancellation.” To be clear, I didn’t cancel—I stayed one night and simply departed early. Marriott’s 48-hour cancellation policy was cited as the reason, but that policy should apply to cancellations, not early departures. When I called to clarify, the front desk reiterated the charge without acknowledging the distinction. This experience has left me questioning whether I’ll stay at a Marriott again. Charging guests for nights they didn’t use—especially without clear communication—is disappointing to say the least!
5 stars! Aimee Devaney, Andrew Smith, and all the staff at this location, made sure my meeting went amazing! Beautiful hotel, comfortable rooms, and amazing staff make this a must stay/visit on your next trip to Spokane! I will definitely be hosting more meetings at this venue! Top notch service!
We lived staying at the Tower. Every single staff member was delightfully kind, from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the lounge. We had a great view from our room of Spokane, the room was comfortable and fully stocked. We got more sleep this weekend than we’ve had in weeks. We highly recommend The Davenport Hotels, and the Downtown location honestly was perfection. A++
